Construction of $1.8 million, 16,000 square foot Shadyside building and the $600,000 square foot interior build-out for Banana Republic (tenant).

This project was extremely challenging as it included multiple issues that A. Martini & Co. needed to address. Since a gas station previously occupied the site, there were environmental issues that needed to be handled. During excavation, structural challenges were met when foundations of the surrounding 100-year-old buildings were reinforced. Since the building was located on a tight site (85 feet x 65 feet) in a busy shopping district, concerns regarding the safety of pedestrians and the traffic of neighboring businesses were addressed through constant communication with local business owners.

Since the structure was built as a speculative retail outlet, cost and quality of construction were two critical concerns of the clients. A. Martini addressed these concerns by utilizing a team approach and coordinating the construction of the base building with that of the interior build-out. These efforts resulted in cost savings for the tenant.
